A very big happy Mothers day to all the moms reading the post today!!!
We had another phenomenal Sunday at church where we celebrated moms in all 4 of our weekend services. I love it that we take time out to celebrate!
Today I wanted to share with you a very challenging post by Ps Steve Furtick. His posts starts off with:
Don’t confuse being in your sweet spot with being in your comfort zone.

Great post. I agree totally. While the 'sweet spot' might have some discomfort associated with it it's still sweet - there's something about breaking through and moving to new ground that is very beautiful even if challenging. All in God's strength :-).
Hey Pastor Clive,
I am wondering if you could tell me what our Church feels about "being slain in the Spirit" and yourself personally.
A mate has been asking so I did some research on the net...
Your thoughts would be appreciated?
Hey sorry that was from RiCO
I'd be interested in your answer to the above too.
We are firm believers in being filled with the Spirit. In fact we recognize that it is God's will for us to be continually filled with his Spirit (Eph 5:17-18).
However what we don't encourage is just seeking a buzz, a good feeling... being narcissistic. We believe that the infilling of the Holy Spirit is for empowering us to live the Christian life.
Your first paragraph seems to support the idea of being slain in the spirit. The second makes that less clear? I would distinguish between Baptism in the Holy Spirit and being slain in the spirit - though the two could go hand in hand. There seems to be such a diversity of opinion on the subject.
I have my own opinions based on research and experience but would never judge whether anything anyone is experiencing is genuine or not. I know that a couple of times in my life I have found it hard to stand when encountering God and that was the most amazing experience and neither time was I seeking it.
So how do you judge is someone is buzz seeking or for real? And should we judge? I'll leave that to God.
Another issue from the other side ... 'faking' falling down would be wrong in my opinion. Is it also wrong to resist falling down? Is resisting falling down resisting the Spirit?
